Beech Mountain Place sits at nearly 4,600 feet, directly across Beech Mountain Parkway from the ski resort entrance (First Chair Coffee is right there too) — yet it's tucked on a quiet, wooded double lot where you can hear the creek running below the deck and watch deer wander the yard. It's a 5-minute walk to the slopes, but set just far enough off the resort to keep those long-range mountain views all year, even in summer when the slope-side homes look out on empty fields.

You enter on the lower level and head up into an open, light-filled great room wrapped in a wall of windows. Reclining leather seating gathers around a stacked-stone gas fireplace and a large-screen TV with live and streaming channels. Warm wood, streaming sunlight, and treetop views give the whole main floor an airy, on-vacation feel.

Drop your gear in the ski room (hooks and benches for boots, coats, and skis), then settle into a full second kitchen and living area — perfect for the kids, a second family, or anyone who wants a little space of their own.

OUTSIDE
Gather around the fire pit under the stars (eight seats built right in), fire up the grill, or slip away to the pair of Adirondack chairs on the little platform past the fire pit — the quietest spot on the property to sip your coffee and listen to the creek. There are even yoga mats for a morning stretch on the deck.

Good to know: the front door is on the lower level with stairs up to the main living area, and from October through March we recommend 4WD/AWD, as mountain roads can get snowy. No pets, no smoking.
