Azalea Hill is a large rustic cabin, with all the modern conveniences, located between historic Boone and Blowing Rock.
This peaceful getaway nestled in the woods ,with awe-inducing views of Grandfather and Beech mountains, is the perfect getaway. The house, part of which dates back to 1925, boasts an expansive living area, filled with warm wood details, a stone fireplace, snowshoes turned into lamps, and comfortably seating surrounding an HDTV.
The living room opens out to the wide deck, where there’s additional seating (Adirondack chairs and an outdoor table) to enjoy sunsets and moonrises.
The kitchen is equipped with stainless appliances, with seating for eight at the main dining table and two more at the bar. The covered deck off the kitchen has a gas grill.
The house is owned by a New York Times bestselling author, and is filled with books, original art, and many heirloom pieces of furniture. Artists, poets, and other writers have stayed there. Perhaps you’ll find your muse as you sip on a glass of wine, make dinner on the grill, or walk on one of the many nearby trails.
AWD or 4WD is highly recommended during the winter months if weather conditions are adverse.

We had a wonderful long weekend at this cozy mountain house! A short drive to both Boone and Blowing Rock. Easy to get to lots of different trails and parks. The house was quaint and cozy, just what we wanted for a trip to the mountains. The views are absolutely beautiful! We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit the area.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful mountain getaway! The home was so quaint and rustic. The views were absolutely incredible of Grandfather Mountain. We spent a lot of time on the porch admiring the ever changing skies and the breathtaking sunsets. It was also easy to venture out to Boone, Blowing Rock and hiking trails. Also, Nick was extremely responsive with the few questions we had during our stay. We look forward to returning for another lovely visit in the future!
Nick’s place was perfect for our family getaway! The views were the star- we enjoyed coffee on the porch every morning. Comfortable beds and an accommodating host made our stay relaxing. Thank you!

Nick's place was worth every penny! The weather was perfect and the view was spectacular. We sat out on the porch for hours. The proximity to Moses Cone Park and Blowing Rock meant we could take our dog for a walk every day and then go back for longer hikes without it feeling like a chore. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the mountains.
