Peak a View

Welcome to Peak a View, perched at 4,200 feet inside gated Eagles Nest, minutes from Beech Mountain. Long-range views spill across three states from the covered deck, above a valley and creek. Two king ensuites and a living-room sofa bed sleep 6, with A/C, a gas-log fireplace, a granite kitchen, and a gas grill. Soak in the private hot tub, gather at the fire pit, and walk to the playground and courts at Camp Eagles Nest. Self check-in, free parking, the High Country minutes away.

Peak a View earns its name from the deck. The ridgelines run out in front of you across three states, with a valley and a creek folded in below, and at 4,200 feet the air does that thing where it's fifteen degrees cooler than wherever you drove up from. Mornings here are coffee-on-the-deck mornings. Evenings are hot-tub-and-fire-pit evenings. Not much else gets scheduled.

Inside, the home is open, bright and comfortable rather than fussy - a place where wet ski gear and a board game on the coffee table both look right. It's a two-bedroom, so it's built for a couple, two couples, or a small family who'd rather have a real kitchen and a real view than extra square footage.

The Great Room -Open-plan living and kitchen with plush seating gathered around a gas-log fireplace and a 55" smart TV — the windows do the decorating. A sofa bed here sleeps two more, bringing the home to 6. Dining happens out on the deck, where the view does the rest.

The Kitchen - Granite counters, a full appliance package (refrigerator with ice maker, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher), a drip coffee maker, and real cookware, dishes and utensils. The bar seats four, and there's a separate dining area for a proper sit-down.

Bedroom 1 - King Ensuite, Main Level - The primary. King bed, 50" smart TV, private full bath.

Bedroom 2 - King Ensuite, Main Level - King bed, 50" smart TV, private full bath. Between the two baths you get one walk-in shower and one tiled tub-and-shower combo.

Half Bath & Laundry - A powder room off the living area, plus a separate laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer.

The Covered Deck - Where the view lives. Gas grill, outdoor seating and dining, and shelter enough that a rainy afternoon out here is a feature and not a problem.

The Hot Tub - Private, and set on the ground level - you'll walk down an exterior staircase from the deck to reach it. Say it out loud on a January night, then go anyway. Soaking under this sky is the best thing the house does.

The Fire Pit - A fire pit area for s'mores, cold air, and the kind of conversation that runs long. Firewood isn't stocked in the home - grab a bundle in town or ask me and I'll help you sort it.

Getting Comfortable - Central and mini-split air conditioning plus heat, so August is cool and February is warm. WiFi throughout with a laptop-friendly workspace if a couple of hours of email is the price of the trip. Smart TVs in the living room and both bedrooms. I provide all the linens, towels and a starter set of toiletries and paper goods to get you through the first day or two.

Family-Ready - The Camp Eagles Nest playground, pickleball courts and basketball court are a short walk away, and the community's trails, mini-golf, ropes course and 24/7 general store are a few minutes up the road. Bring your own balls and racquets - the courts are BYO equipment.

A Note on Stairs - This is a multi-level mountain home with no elevator. Both bedrooms and the main living space are on one level, but the hot tub is down an exterior staircase and the driveway approach is mountain-steep. Worth knowing if stairs are a factor for anyone in your group.
