The Grateful Bear is a luxury mountain home located within the prestigious Lodges at Eagles Nest in the mountains of North Carolina. Designed to blend comfort, elegance, and natural beauty, the home offers spacious living areas and thoughtful amenities for both relaxing and adventure-filled stays. The open-concept main living space features a wall of windows that fills the home with natural light and showcases seasonal mountain views. Guests can relax on plush leather seating by the stacked stone gas fireplace or enjoy entertainment on the wall-mounted TV. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with high-end appliances, cookware, and ample counter space, with an adjoining dining area ideal for shared meals.
Outdoor living includes an expansive covered deck with a gas log fireplace, comfortable seating, and scenic views, along with a landscaped hot tub area conveniently accessed from the mudroom. The loft provides entertainment for all ages with a pool table, ping-pong conversion, classic arcade game, and a dedicated sensory nook for children. The home accommodates up to eight guests with three bedrooms, including a king master suite with ensuite bath, an upstairs king suite with ensuite, and a bunk room with a twin-over-twin bunk and separate queen bed. All bedrooms include TVs with live cable and streaming.

Epic Chophouse restaurant in Banner Elk offers the top dining experience and best mountain views in the High Country of North Carolina. We literally elevated food and drink in the Blue Ridge when we opened our Eagles Nest location at 4,300 feet elevation in 2025. Perched atop a knoll with panoramic vistas, our gorgeous mountain lodge setting has soaring ceilings, glass walls and striking art. Watch summer sunsets from covered decks complete with firepits. Open year-round, the bar and dining room with a massive stone fireplace are perfect places to gather with friends on winter days.

Great place! My kids got to see snow for the first time! Lots of deer and beautiful place.
Our stay was amazing at this cabin! We had 3 kids stay with us, and they LOVED the playroom already stocked with toys and the smores kit Nick left for us! It was very roomy and comfy for all 7 of us and Nick was very accommodating when we had to bring 2 dogs too! Nick was very responsive/helpful to us when we had any questions! Highly recommend and we cant wait to go back!
This place is beautiful. It was perfect for our family. We had a great time and stay.
